We have been on a cruise every year, for the last 8 years, but not just any cruise. We have sailed on Family Life’s, Love Like You Mean It Marriage Cruise. You might recognize Family Life by their popular Weekend to Remember marriage and family weekends all over the United States. Like so many things, 2020 put a kink in our 2021 cruise, but we are already registered for the 2022 cruise along with 16 of our friends.

How did we find this cruise in the first place?

Dave and I had been to a Weekend to Remember in the early years of our marriage. We decided then, that some day, when we could afford it, we would go again, but to one of the destination locations, instead of close to home. I started searching one day and found that Family Life had started these chartered cruises, and we decided to register and take a trip without the kids and work on our marriage at the same time.

Why did we choose the ‘Love Like You Mean It Cruise?’

Our very first cruise, on the Oasis of the Seas, was a free trip I earned from our company. But, we really liked the idea of being on a ship that was completely chartered by Family Life, all married couples, and no children. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love our children, but getting away and working on our marriage was the best thing we could do to be better parents to our children.

How we rebook year after year.

We had planned to only go that first time, but it was such a great week, we decided on the last day, to book the next year. Not only do you get the best discount, you are more likely to get the cabin that you want.

On the 2nd sailing, we met a couple that we are friends with to this day. And they made us realize that cruising with friends was a whole lot more fun. When Dave and I got home, we reached out to 2 couples who have meant a lot to Dave and I, and invited them to join us on our 3rd cruise. They registered and traveled with us that next year and we were right. Cruising with friends was so much more fun!
