Iconic guillotine-style bread slicer designed by Ove Larsen, produced in Denmark during the 1970s. A Scandinavian kitchen classic — still fully functional.

Up for sale is a genuine vintage Raadvad bread slicer, Model 294, finished in its striking original orange lacquer. Designed by Ove Larsen and manufactured by Raadvad Knivfabrikker in Denmark during the 1970s, this guillotine-style slicer is one of the most recognisable icons of Scandinavian mid-century kitchen design.

The Raadvad factory was founded in 1758 in the town of Raadvaddam, near Copenhagen. They began producing bread slicers in 1924, introducing the Model 294 in 1939 — a design so functional it remained virtually unchanged for decades. The iron frame is painted in the sought-after retro orange, and the unit retains its original wooden base and spun handle.

This slicer is fully operational — the blade is sharp and cuts cleanly through dense rye bread and sourdough loaves. It makes an equally handsome display piece on a kitchen shelf, countertop, or as a bookend in a den or study.

A rare find in this colour and condition. Don't miss it.
